Sindh Government has taken another step to facilitate citizens by launching smart card registration for all types of vehicles.
The Smart Cards were introduced by Sindh’s Minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla. He claims that this new registration will help to eliminate the problem of fake registrations in the province.
It will also enable authorities to verify cars on the spot through devices on the spot which will also help trafficking of stolen cars.
The smart card comes with a sim which contains electronic data including:
- Vehicle owners name
- CNIC/Passport Details
- Registration number
- Date of Registration
- Previous registration
- Chassis number
- Engine Number
- Token tax expiry date
- Number of Cylinder
- Type of body
- Color of vehicle
- Maker’s Name
- Class of vehicle
- Reg. Laden weight
- Unladen weight
- Tyre size (Front axle, Rear axle, Other axle)
- Year of manufacturing
- Seating capacity
- Horse power/CC
- Assessed Annual Tax of RS
So whether you own a bike, car or van you don’t need to carry registration book. Now the smart card will become your virtual registration book which can be assessed by authorities anytime.
A nominal fee will be charged for issuance of the smart card, those who have registered previously and want to get their smart card will also have to register their vehicle.
