Abdul Haqq asked a question from Darul Iftah of Jamia Binoria, he said whether it is allowed to start conversation on mobile phone by Hello? He further said that usually we deal with Muslims and non Muslims and we don’t know whether the one with whom we are talking is a Muslim or not.
The Darul Iftah said that Muslims should start conversation by saying salam and prayers on each other rather than with Hello. And if you don’t know whether the caller is a Muslim or not then you may use Hello, but for Muslims you should use Islamic greeting of As-Salam-o-Alekum.
It is with the view that Islam has its own culture which we should follow rather than adopting foreign words and cultures which we don’t know and even fail to properly pronounce.
