General Raheel Sharif the ex Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan left for Saudi Arabia after he was invited by the Royal Family of Saudi Arabia.
The details of the invitation were not released and there are speculations why an ex Chief is receiving such importance. Some are claiming that it is an invitation as a respect to the work of the Pakistani General but it seems there is more than only a farewell ceremony.
In past it was reported by sources from Pakistan military that General Raheel Shairf was offered the post to lead the 34 country alliance. In 2015 Saudi Arabia announced a coalition of 34 Muslim countries to fight Islamic terrorism and protect democratic values and kingships in Muslim countries. Later the number of countries was increased to 39.
It is being said that General Raheel Sharif is visiting Saudi Arabia for an important meeting on this purpose and they will discuss the detailed plan for Islamic Military Alliance to Fight Terrorism (IMAFT).
