Umar Amin is one of the recent inductions in the Pakistan team and one of the crop of young players expected to play a part in the future of Pakistan cricket. Born in Rawalpindi on October 16 1989, Umar Amin started playing cricket at an early age and rose through the ranks to the Pakistan International team. Umar Amin’s official Twitter profile is twitter.com/UmerAmin007.
Umar Amin is a left handed batsman who plays in the middle order. He made his debut in 2010 in the Asia Cup against Sri Lanka. He made his Test debut in the same year against Australia at Lords cricket ground. Umar Amin had previously played for Pakistan U16 and U19 teams and also in Pakistan A squad. He had an First class cricket average of 37.57 with 9 hundreds and 27 fifties.
Umar Amin showed a lot of potential when he was selected for the team but unfortunately he failed to make his mark at the international level. He made just 7 runs in his debut ODI and 5 in his next match. His test debut also didn’t go well when he got out at 1. Umar Amin’s batting average is just 19 and 12 in ODIs and Tests respectively. He did show some performances in the T20I making a high score of 47. Once praised as the potential future captain of the Pakistan team, Umar Amin still has some time to make things right and earn a place for himself in the Pakistan team.
