LAHORE: The deaths of 103 people have been confirmed and 294 others have been injured in the recent rains in Punjab. The government of Punjab Has decided to enforce flood emergency throughout the province and has directed to expedite aids and relief activities for the rain-affected people. DG rescue has annulled the vacations of all the rescue workers.
On the other hand, the flow of water in river Chenab at Head Mirala is 8 lacs and 18 thousands cusec. According to sources, this flood could bring destruction largely in Jalalpur Bhatian. The Pakistan army has started rescue operation in order to evacuate and shift the rain-affected people to safer places in Phalia and other surrounded areas.
The rescue sources told that 103 people have been killed and 294 others have been injured in 4 days throughout Punjab with recent rains and flood. 24 people were killed in Lahore and 80 others were injured. 54 people were provided first aid. 8 thousands and 500 rescue workers were on duty in flood-affected areas. In Shaikhupura, roof collapsed incidents happened in which 5 people were injured.
