Bhawalpur: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has released the country’s biggest solar power project as in the first phase of project, 100 MW will be added in December 2014 in the system. Overall the project will produce 1000 MW of electricity and the electrical energy which will grow from solar power will be available at Rs 15 per unit.
Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has inaugurated the Pakistan biggest solar energy project which is making in Cholistan. Speaking on the occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the project is reflection of prime minister’s thinking and today is a historic opportunity for the nation. He said that the project which has made with the cost of $ 15 billion will generate overall 1000 MW of electrical power as the first phase of project will generate 100 MW in December 2014. The second phase will produce 300 MW of electricity which will be connected to the national grid in December 2015 while in the third and final tranche, 600 MW will be added to the system by December 2016.
It has also told that for the delivery 400 MW power supply, 132 KV power transmission line has been completed while for the 600 MW power supply, 220 KV line will be completed this year. A project which has launched in collaboration of the Chinese company TBEA as 25% of money will be given from Government of Punjab and 75% from the Bank Of Punjab for this project as a credit.
This project is the country’s largest energy project and on the occasion of this biggest project’s inauguration, Federal Minister for Water and Power, Khawaja Asif, Riaz Pirzada, Governor of Punjab, Chief Minister of Punjab and other Chinese officials were present.
