Peshawar: Religious veil of Muslim women, the head scarf (Hijab) has been made a compulsion at the Khyber Medical University of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province. The administration state the step to promote modesty in the educational institute. Noor-ul-Imran the University principal said that observing Hijab counts among the basic norm and culture of our country. He said that this step has not been taken for the fifteen hundred enrolled females only but the males are too given the dress codes to be observed within the premises.
In Pakistan the western dresses are usually wore by the young generation. The notification has highly been objected by the students who had protested against the ‘mandatory’ veil. One of the students said that the administration cannot forcefully impose Islamic religious obligations. However many appreciate the step since being Islamic state Hijab and observance of Abayas should be made mandatory.
Earlier the tribal areas people had also been pressurizing the same thing. Hence for the institution to take such step is highly appreciable.
It is pertinent here to mention that couple of months back, University of Azad and Jammu Kashmir (AJKU) declared Hijab mandatory. Some people supported while others objected. To disseminate a balanced, modest society PTA had also taken steps in this regard by ending the late night packages which also play role in giving rise to immodest activities.

Very bad for girls.. what about boys? no law for them? WHY? They tease girls even girls wear full Naqab.
PTI should focus on its own women who dress like models, Ayla Malik, etc

Aalia I agree with your point of men’s attitude toward girls in hijab as well.. but you must know how a proper covering of our body can prevent us in many aspects.. and even if then, as well, men cant control their gazes then Allah is the best to judge.. as on our part atleast their will be no questioning.. better to be concerned about our selves, we wont be asked about others actions.. Hope I have made my point clear, with no offense… 🙂

Kpk is a muslim majority province, muslim girls will follow islamic dress code. Whats bad about it??? Following islam and practising life according to islamic teachings is bad for girls??? U r so stupid …read full post..they have issued dress code for boys aswell..

In alquran 24.30 mentioned “tell the believing men to lower their gaze”. Just like women have cover their aurah. But society twisted the fact that only women have to cover themselves and men’s are not. Men’s should have known that looking at non mahram is haram.

One should not have problem with this obligation of Hijab. Those who criticize should think that whether they will leave to cure the cancer disease of himself or his relative just because of the reason that some cancer patients have died of cancer while cure is possible. Yes we agree that men should also abide by the laws of Almighty Allah. Hijab for men is different than hijab for women.

There are dress codes in all part of the world, in Burj Khalifah you have to wear the suit, in Burj-ul-arab you can not enter in Qandhoora, or shalwar qameez, there are school uniforms, in India, USA, UK, Dubai there are school and collgees where girls wear skirts, these all are dress codes,
Then why Hijab can not be a dress code for colleges and universities, i support this action of KPK government

@Alia…agr aik cheeze ghalat ha then it doesnt mean k usko aar bna k aik noble cause ko b reject kar diya jaye……Regulations honey chahiye boys k liye b but let this step be implemented then in next step that issue should also be adressed.

I personally think, this is a good thing. Allah (SWT) have ordered Muslim Women to cover their heads.
As far as boys are concerned, they too have been ordered to Lower their gaze (in Surah Nisa). If some boys tease girls, its bad. If they tease the girls with Niqaab, it is even worse, but with all due respect, this Cannot be Justified for ‘Not Observing Pardah & Covering Head”.

its really a great step.it shows our islamic values that are a role model for all females.

Both men and women have been asked in quran to lower their gaze………… The basic purpose of veil is to protect women and to uplift her in the society. Those girls who are not in favor of Niqaab/Pardha they should just see the girls in western countries that by having no veil and no pardha what is their character in society… boys are changing girls like they change their shirts. Boys and even girls themselves got no respect for their body… yesterday my colleague (who is a western) saying to me that nowadays if he exchange few message with a girl on a social website, immediately we get their naked photos etc, so this th end result of not having veil and not following what Allah and his prophet has ordered us.

“O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers that they should cast their outer garments over them (when abroad); this is more proper, that they should be known (recognized as such) and not molested. And Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.” (Holy Qur’an, 33:59).

indeed a positive step, why no one objects to compulsory uniforms introduced by humans & people dare challenge a dress code ordered by the Almighty Allah, very strange attitude
