Karachi: As many as five passengers drowned in River Sindh near Dhandari Wednesday afternoon as the ship got over turned in the midst of a deep river, sources informed.
According to the sources, the incident took place owing overweight on the ship. It carried more about twenty passengers at a time while it could only manage a weight of about 13 to 14 persons.
Meanwhile, the rescue forces have reached the scene and the rescue process in underway. Four dead bodies have been recovered from the river while one is missing, 15 have been rescued.
