Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has accused the government of deceptively managing to pass resolutions in the parliament that it never implements them.
Nawaz Sharif this said while addressing the Central Working Committee of the PML-N here in Islamabad on Monday at Punjab House.
Nawaz Sharif said that the energy crisis has worsened in the country, adding that PML-N would participate in the protests against the unannounced and prolonged load shedding of electricity.
He expressed concerns about the growing pressure exerted on the Pakistan that has given tremendous sacrifices. He also said that the country is sagging economically. “Despite giving tremendous sacrifices Pakistan is asked to ‘do more’. The rulers are responsible for the ills that the country is facing.”
He further said, “The opposition comes to the government’s notice, as it (government) is faced with a critical situation.”
He again declared President Asif Ali Zardari ‘danger to the democracy’, adding that I had termed President Zardari danger for democracy year and half ago which has become true today.
He said that the government has not recognized the restoration of deposed judges till yet, adding that that is why it has created clash like situation with Supreme Court of Pakistan, adding that if court convicts somebody president forgives his conviction.
He said that if we become sincere with ourselves many problems of the country would be solved overnight, adding that the whole money is taken by government from state bank and other banks and it is too much high for common man to pay 17% interest rate on the loan.
He said that the country is going through a worst energy and economic crisis amid heating political wrangling between two rival parties.
“Pakistan is facing multiple external and internal challenges while the Federal government has taken no measures to counter these challenges. The country is weakening day by day and we are being isolated at the international level”, Nawaz added,
He said that despite making immense sacrifices in the war against terror we are being condoned and criticised. The investors are hesitant to invest in the country while the domestic investors are also moving their businesses out from the country. Such a scenario has become a grave concern.
Criticizing the manner in which the government is running the helms of affairs, Nawaz Sharif said the government has not taken the Parliament or the Public into confidence on any matter. The resolutions passed by the parliament on the Abbottabad operation have not been implemented and neither any opposition leaders have been consulted. The manner in which the government is running the state affairs is a bad mark on democracy.
He said that the President Zardari had written flattery articles in US newspapers than why shouldn’t US pressurise us. Today we are in this mess due to the ill policies of the government. He said the international community avoids providing aid as government s record is not good. Nawaz further said that in a country where the judiciary’s decisions are ridiculed justice cannot prevail.
He said that the country is facing worst form of load shedding, thousands of industries have been shut, scores of people have become unemployed and the ship ordered by the government from abroad for power production is standing docked at Karachi for past one year and has not been made operational.
He said when he was PM Pakistan was in debt of only RS 3 trillion and now our foreign loans have exceeded RS 1100 trillion.
He said that the government has made Pakistan beggar in front of the world due to its corruption, adding that there is perception in the word whichever money it would be given to the Pakistani government it would be embezzled .
He directed the members of the party to start preparations of the next elections, adding that the rulers are being unpopular with the passage of every day due to their deeds, adding that the government is wasting 1000 billion rupees on state-run enterprises which could be used for the help of flood-affectees.
He said that if the government had saved this money it would have no need to beg from the international community for the help of flood affectees.
He said that when Musharraf had started Kargil episode the friends of Pakistan including China and Islamic countries had said that why Pakistan has started this episode, adding that we should not test our friend China so much that one day it could say to Pakistan that we can not support anymore.
Announcing that he would visit Balochistan in a couple of days, Nawaz said that it is injustice that the dissident Baloch members were not invited to the APC, adding that the situation in Balochistan is very worst and government has done nothing to improve law and order situation in the province.
Her said that the government should had manage to ensure the participation of Baloch leaders in the APC, adding that until the killers of Nawab Akbar Bugti would not be brought in the court of justice the law and order situation in Balochistan could not be improved; meanwhile Nawaz Sharif demanded the early decision of missing persons cases and their recovery.
The meeting was held to discuss current political situation, economic condition, implementation of decisions of the recently held All Parties Conference (APC), uncontrolled inflation, worsening electricity shortfall and the party future strategy.
