Karachi-Sukkur Motorway: Route Revised to Pass Through Hyderabad
Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Federal Minister for Communications Ali Zaidi agreed to construct the M6 motorway from Karachi to Sukkur via Hyderabad instead of the previously proposed Hyderabad-Sukkur route.
During their meeting at the CM House, both leaders discussed the possibility of constructing the motorway through public-private partnerships or federal-provincial consortiums.
CM Shah assured that his team would assess the feasibility and construction modalities.
The meeting was attended by high-ranking officials, including Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, Secretary to CM Rahim Sheikh, Secretary Works Muhammad Ali Sheikh, Federal Secretary Communications Ali Sher Mehsud, and Chairman National Highway Authority Shahryar Sultan.
The 306-kilometer Sukkur-Hyderabad motorway aims to ensure fast and safe travel.
The motorway will originate in Hyderabad and terminate at the Nara Canal.
This development is expected to boost regional connectivity and economic growth.
