Government of Sindh announced Holiday for its Hindu employees on Wednesday 11th October, 2018 so that they may observe their religious celebrations of Diwali.
Hindu population is present is all provinces of Pakistan but Sindh constitute for their largest population. On this occasion Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan wished the Hindu community by tweeting ‘Wishing all our Hindu citizens a happy Diwali’.

Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) also extended greetings to the Hindu community on this occasion. He assured them that PPP will always stand for protection & promotion of minorities as equal citizens.

Diwali is celebrated with especial prayers in Hindu temples with fireworks and festive meals. They exchange sweets and gifts among each other and spend their time with family members.
This is why many restaurants and brands reveal discounts and promotion offers on Diwali especially in Karachi & other cities with significant Hindu population.
On this occasion Hindu community members also share Diwali cards with each other and wish each other with prayers & messages.
From many years provincial government of Sindh announces public holiday on Diwali for Hindu government employees. School, colleges & universities remain open as the holiday is only for government employees.
