Secretary Election Commission (EC) Ishtiaq Ahmed told the Supreme Court (SC) that 37 million unconfirmed names have been removed from the voters’ lists rolls and 36 million new voters are being added in the electoral list according to NADRA data.
A three-bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the petition of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan who is seeking a revision of electoral rolls and a reform of the electoral process.
Secretary Election Commission also told the court that the voter lists would be verified from 18th July 18 and nearly 100000 people would be mobilized for home to home campaign for the purpose. He also added that the new lists would be published in December.
