Yaseen Azad For Observing Merit In Judges’ Appointment

KARACHI: Newly elected President of Supreme Court Bar Association Yaseen Azad has said that appointments of judges should be on merit to address the grievances of masses as well as deprivation of Sindh. Addressing to reception hosted by Sindh High Court Bar Association Yaseen said that bars and courts should be independent as judiciary adding that we would go to any extent for the rights of lawyers’ and would complete Asma Jahangir’ s incomplete mission. Showing concerns over target killing of lawyers Yaseen said that the killings of legal fraternity are regrettable.

Meanwhile, former president Supreme Court Bar Association Ali Ahmad Kurd said that the struggle for independent judiciary would be continued. Earlier, President Sindh High Court Bar Association Anwar Mansoor Khan during his welcoming speech said that lawyers’ would prefer struggle instead of remaining subordinate of judges and government.
