World richest man, famous American Businessman and chairman of Microsoft company has sought Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan’s help in eradicating polio disease from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Tehreek-e-Insaf has formed government in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
Bill Gates has sent a personal letter through his emissary to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan. The 57-year-old Gates in his letter has asked for Imran Khan’s party cooperation in furthering the anti polio vaccination programme in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In the last few years province has failed to provide security to polio workers and as a result polio workers have been killed which has hurt the polio vaccination in the province. In 2012 Taliban banned polio vaccination in Waziristan and Taliban was of the view that the polio campaign is helping those who are spying against Taliban.
According to Unted Nations (UN) pakistan is amng three countries where polio is endemic. The other two countries are Afganistan and Nigeria.
