Embryologists from Harvard and Brown Universities believe that soon they will be able to fertilize man sperms without female embryo eggs.
Last year a team of researchers at University of Bath successfully developed an egg without fertilization. They succeeded in creating parthenogenotes from sperms only, though the embryos died within days but it opened up a way forward for the embryologists.
In Journal ‘Science Translational Medicine’ Harvard Law School’s professor Dr. George Daley said that science is moving at a rapid speed and it’s time that the legal prospect of this advancement is discussed.
The process of reproduction without involving any partner is called IVG (In Vitro gametogenesis) which is facing an ethical dilemma. For years scientists are working on IVG in different countries especially in UK and Japan.
If they succeed in producing embryos without natural process then it would be astonishing because it will break the opinion which is held from centuries. It will mean woman can have child without any man and man can have child without any woman.
