Karachi: The newly appointed ASP Suhai Aziz Talpur changed the history after she got designated as Assistant Superintendent Police (ASP) in the police department, clearing her Central Superior Services (CSS) exams. She is said to be the first female to have made up to the designation from the lower Sindh.
She credits her hard work, good upbringing for the achievement, the rank she has achieved at an early age of 25. Suhai belongs from a Sindhi family and cleared the CSS exams in first attempt. Giving interview to media men, young ASP shared her experiences and the oppositions she had faced when she pursued to becoming a civilian servant.
In her words, Suhai spoke that she and her family had faced strong criticisms and discouragement from their families residing in village, who do not support the notion of educating the females. She says that is her parent’s struggle, passionate to educate her that has paid off, earning her to an honorable position.
The relatives’ attitude had forced them to leave the village and moving to a nearby town. Daughter of Aziz Talpur, writer and political activist of Bhai Khan Talpur Village, Tando Muhammad Khan district, was persuaded and supported by her parents after she desired of serving as a civilian servant in her career tenure.
Suhai, would take over the charge as ASP from November, the next month. It is pertinent here to mention that enthusiastic candidate enjoys being the woman from lower Sindh to join the police department. Passing her exams, she had wanted to be part of the district management group, but owing to her marks, she deserved the ASP position.
