The outbreak of Coronavirus gave rise to conspiracy theories including the claim that 5G Towers is causing Covid-19, this is why WHO came forward to reject such rumors.
The theory that 5G Network will be harmful for human life was circulating from two years but the spread of coronavirus provided fuel for it. Renowned conspiracy theorists, such as David Icke, came in and became one of the most vocal propagators of linking 5G with Covid-19.
This rumor even resulted in attacks on 5G and mobile towers in different European countries such as UK, Ireland and Netherlands.
World Health Organization (WHO) initiated a myth buster portal after myths started to become viral regarding Coronavirus. WHO rejected the theory that 5G technology is responsible for spreading the viral disease.
WHO clarified that virus cannot travel through radio wave of mobile towers, as suggested by conspiracy theorists. WHO also revealed that many countries that have no 5G infrastructure have been affected by the epidemic.
The only way the viral disease is spreading across the globe is through respiratory droplets when any infected person speaks, sneezes or coughs. These droplets can also contaminate the air or the objects in the place.
Due to these reasons the precautions against coronavirus include using mask, social distancing and washing your hands.
This is why the spread of COVID-19 in the world is linked with the people who travelled from Wuhan, the birthplace of this viral disease before lockdown was initiated in China.
