Lockdown started in Pakistan after all provinces announced their decisions to prevent the spread of coronavirus, initially it was for 2 weeks but later notifications were issued to extend the lockdown because coronavirus is not ending. This gives rise to the question that when will coronavirus ends in Pakistan and other countries?
Initially it was believed that the world was saved from a widespread epidemic but after outbreaks in Iran and Italy it became clear that one after another country is becoming the victim of coronavirus. But when will this cycle end?
Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD):
Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) used a model called SIR (Susceptible-Infected-Recovered) and predicted that from June COVID-19 will be predominately eliminated and by December 2020 it will be completely eradicated from the world.
Dr Zafar Mirza, the Advisor to Prime Minister on Health, also hopes that from June the coronavirus problem will start to decline. He shared his views on the same day as the report by Singaporean University was published. This is why it is expected that government will extend the lockdown at least till Eid.
Southampton & Reading University:
Michael Head, a senior research fellow at Southampton University also predicted that in next few months the viral disease will be limited but added that globalization and international connectivity makes predicting the end.
Other experts disagree with such models, Dr Simon Clarke is a renowned professor of cellular microbiology at the University of Reading (UK), he believes the its impossible to predict an end date, rather she thinks that the spread means it will remain with us forever.
Hadith About End of Epidemic:
Many people are also sharing a hadith linking the end of epidemic with Surraya star and claiming that the coronavirus epidemic will end on 12th May.
But scholars believe that the hadith was not about all epidemics and it was not anything linked with stars rather they believe that it was about a particular epidemic in fruits which Prophet (PBUH) indicated will end during summer.
