Lahore: Pakistani fast bowler, Wahab Riaz might be held up with penalty for not complying with strict limited wedding expenditure, it is learnt. The fast bowler who had tied the wedding knot on Saturday, last week in the capital city of Punjab, is likely to pay back for the excessive wedding celebrations.
Lahore district magistrate officials raided his house on Thursday. He has been accused of serving more than a dish and taking up the ceremony to late night.
It is worthwhile here to mention that Punjab government last month has had condemned last night parties and lavish expenditures at the weddings. It had been notified earlier, that no weddings continue after 10 pm. And, widely one dish concept is observed on the occasions.
Lahore, heart of Punjab is a hub of food streets. Late night parties with lavish expenditure are norm. Hence, the law is passed to avoid extravagancy.
Raiz’a father Sikandar spoke that additional session judge had bailed him until 9 December. Soon they would register defamation against the raiders. City Government Inspector, Mohammad Amir however said that the attempt was made for the violation done by the family.
Amir has told the newsmen, ‘We raided his house at around 11pm and found that five dishes were served in meals which was a violation and an FIR (first information report) was lodged against Riaz’. If declared verdict, Raiz shall be liable to penalty payment of Rs 100,000 to 150,000 rupees.
