Virtual Driving Training Institute is another great initiative by Islamabad Traffic Police which will help people to get real world experience through 3D technology.
The opening ceremony was done by IG Islamabad Police Sultan Azam Taimuri, who himself examined the simulators installed in the institute.
Currently 10 simulators are installed in the institute to help beginners but it is expected that more will be installed with passage of time.
Using 3D technology and simulators for training drivers is a norm in developed world but Pakistan lacked the technology. It is the first time that in any Pakistani city simulators will be used to create real world driving conditions for the driver.
People who fear to bring their cars on roads with heavy traffic because of injury can benefit from this new initiative. Now they can try real world traffic without the risk of accident & injury.
In the last few years Islamabad Police has focused on modernizing its setup, on more than one occasions it took major steps involving technology.
Just recently it launched e-challan through which citizens were allowed to pay challan through digital means, decreasing the chances of corruption and providing ease to drivers.
