Valentine day celebration has started from last few months in Pakistan although Basant festival has been celebrating from many decades. Valentine day now celebrating as entertaining event but majority of people are against this event. They say that it’s against Islam, ethics & our social values.
Surely Electronic media has a great role to promote this day but still people take this negatively. Media is trying to penetrate this event in public, especially in youth. Channels are arranging different programs & shows to highlight this day as National day. The wretched thing is that our leaders are also happy to promote this day.
This year facebook is playing a vital role for these “Open Minded People” to promote valentine. There are many valentine dance parties has arranged in all over Pakistan, particularly in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad & other major cities.
Basant An Unislamic Festival
On another side Basant festival will also start in few days. Majority of people from Punjab celebrate this event while every year many innocent people die due to this festival. This year some modernist has also merged Basant with Valentine by celebrating Basant on 13th February night.
