Xinjiang: Uyghur Chinese people remain suppressed in their native land for the religion discrimination that prevails in the communist country. According to the sources, the Chinese Muslim residing in the province of Xinjiang are victims of oppression for past several years, under different regimes.
Ironically, voices of the suppressed people fail to get international attention. Xinjiang is a province in west of China. Being highly populated with Muslims of Turkish origin, the region is neglected often on discrimination basis. The Muslims living in their own state are deprived to practice their religion.
Manchu (Qing) and Mao Zhedong communist regime were the tough periods for the Xinjiang people. Since, the Muslims were targeted and restricted to perform the Holy rituals. Strict commandments were reported this year, when the Muslims were abandoned to fast in the Holy month of Ramadan. While, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr clash between Uyghur Chinese and the local security men had resulted in calamities to the Muslims, killing and injuring several.
Year 2009, was seen as year of rebellion. Police forces and Uyghur clash was the deadliest of the violence. Thousand got injured while over 150 people killed. After the incident, Chinese Muslims population in the region has decreased considerably.
Being imposed with several restrictions, in daily life chores and others, the Turkish origin Chinese people continue to bear the harsh conditions. OIC also looks less concerned to do anything in this regard. While, the other Muslim countries also remain silent over the issue, as they have had been in the past decades.
