Riyadh: Saudi cleric Sheikh Abdullah al-Mutlaq said in his fatwa that internet chatting between unrelated men and women is forbidden. According to Arab news website published by prominent Saudi cleric Sheikh Abdullah al-Mutlaq, a member of the Ulema Council, said in his fatwa social media has become a means of promoting diabolical ideas and thoughts.
Sheikh Abdullah al-Mutlaq added that sometimes men or women said such things to each other in their chatting which only Allah knows because while chatting to the women, especially the devil is with men. He said that all the Muslims especially Muslim youth should be careful while chatting with unrelated women or men because their chats may get very personal that will lead their communication to unsuitable topics which are not allowed to be discuss between unrelated men or women. Saudi cleric said in his fatwa that Satan can mislead them through the course of chatting between unrelated men and women and as a result, they may be suffer from any the wrong things. Sheikh Abdullah al-Mutlaq said while especially directing to women that women should strictly avoid any type of internet chat with strangers and unrelated men.
