The recent bombing carried out in a busy fruit and vegetables market in Islamabad killed 24 innocent people and injured many others. Many people were shocked to see terrorists penetrate the capital so easily and fingers were initially pointed toward the Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan. However the TTP spokesman rejected responsibility and even condemned the attack which led to a lot of confusion and people wondered about the identity of the attackers.
Eventually the banned United Baloch Army (UBA) accepted the responsibility of the attack through a telephone from a spokesman in Quetta. They said this attack was in retaliation of the operation of armed forces in Kalat, Turbat, Panjgur, Mastung and other parts of Balochistan.
This made it the second bomb blast carried out by them in 2 days as they had also claimed responsibility of the train explosion in Sibbi. This heightened activity has brought the UBA a lot of attention. So who are they?
Most experts say that they are those people of Balochistan who want independence while others believe that it is an organization funded by foreign secret agencies and enemies of Pakistan to carry out attacks. There are also some people who say that there is no such thing as the United Baloch Army and it is only some random people who use the name to create panic among the people and create gaps between the Balochis and the rest of Pakistan.
