He said that Pakistan were among those nations with restricted expansion in the telecommunication services owing to the taxes applying on the telecom industry as it obstructed in the increase of the Tele density. It was important to reduce these taxes to a reasonable level. He said that bringing the cost of 3G technologies within affordable range was proving as challenge in the face of the current energy crisis, lack of infrastructure, strict regulations on business activities and high taxes.
Asher Yaqub said that the 3G technology will change the face of social networking and will allow the customers to access large data and will innovate the experience of social media platforms. He said that with an increased downloading speed, various applications will be promoted and online shopping will be enhanced. He said Ufone will educate its customer about the usage of 3G technology and its benefits. Ufone will provide optimum coverage allowing its users to access the internet on their phones even when there are power outages.
