Turkish Armed forces have entered Syrian province of Idlib after agreement with Russian & Iran. The military convoy consisting 30 vehicles entered Syria from Bab Al-Hawa crossing.
The convoy was leading towards a hilltop area Sheikh Barakat which overlooks the areas under control of rebels and Kurds. Tahrir Al-Sham the biggest rebel group from Idlib didn’t oppose the military movement of Turkey which already warned it before entering the area.
Turkish President Erdogan just few days ago claimed that they are leading an operation in Idlib against terrorism for which air support is being provided through Russia. Erdogan revealed that FSA was leading the operation on the group while Turkish forces were securing the borders. Turkey claims that they are enforcing the de-escalation zones which were the final agreement in Astana between Turkey, Russia & Iran.
Many believe that the entry was made after USA approval and support which aims to reduce the grip & power of Tahrir Al-Sham which USA believes to be an extremist group.
