People are usually confused about the status of transgender thinking that khawaja sira don’t have the right of getting married or starting a family life. Some even think they cannot enter mosque or perform hajj, these all thoughts are based on ignorance and lack of Islamic understanding.
The same question was asked to Jamia Binoria on which the mufti answered that transgender are classified into male and female transgender. Male transgender are considered male and have the rights and obligations of a man, they can marry any female and can perform hajj without anyone accompanying him.
On the other hand female transgender are considered female which gives her the right and obligations of a woman, so she must cover her body like any other woman and should perform hajj like any other woman.
Science also classifies transgender into these two groups, there is another minority among transgender which can neither be classified as man and nor as woman, they cannot get married but Islam gives her all other rights and obligations.
