Karachi: The local police on Wednesday claimed to have slain three alleged dacoits during a police-dacoit encounter in the city which continues to display volatile face of it for the last several weeks, local news channel reported Wednesday. The city of lights turns into the city of violence as it is being hit by sectarian and political challenges, taking lives of about hundred in less than three days.
According to sources, the police stopped four suspects, riding on two motorbikes near Quaidabad’s Daud Chowrangi, during a routing snap checking but they did not stopped which resulted in the counter operation, killing three of them.
“The incident took place when the police team stopped them for snap checking but they opened fire at them and sped away. In the result, three of them were killed while two of our constables were shotm in the exchange of fire, sustaining minor injuries,” an official told.
The officials claimed that all the victims were dacoits, and that their bodies along with the injured police personnel have been shifted to local hospital for post medico-legal formalities.
