Things You Should Do Before Start of Ramazan – Mufti Tariq Masood

Ramazan is considered the holiest month by Muslims because of the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). But what things should we do even before the start of the holy month? Mufti Tariq Masood lists three major things.

He says that we should welcome the month as the Prophet (PBUH) welcomed the month. The messenger of Allah fasted in the month of Shaban more than any other month.

“The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to fast all of Shaban, he used to fast Shaban except a few days.” Muslim (1156)

Mufti Tariq Masood says that the second thing which we should do is start praying nawafil & Tahajud before the holy month. He said that in Ramadan we offer night prayers in congregation where we listen the recitation of Quran, we should also do so in Shaban.

The third thing which Mufti Tariq Masood recommended was leaving sins. He said that the month of Ramazan is a great opportunity for us to do tauba and leave our sins so why not start leaving sins even before Ramazan?
