Everything goes with a reason, and when we consider the current situation we would notice that we’ve been governed under democracy as well as under the flag of dictatorship but our problems i.e providing the basic needs have not been fulfilled yet. But ironically our leaders still believe that democracy is the only solution, which we have already experienced and have not succeeded by a far margin.
On the other hand, why we call for Khilafah is the question? Khilafah is the system of governance where the only rule which is followed is the rule of Allah SWT i.e Shariah Laws. If we look at the past when the Khilafah was established we would acknowledge the fact that the part of land which was governed by Caliphs (under the Khilafah) was furnished with justice and basic needs were provided.
Not only that but when Umar bin Abdul Aziz was a Caliph, people used to find the needy ones to give them the charity hence completing the obligation i.e Zakat but most of the times they had to return unsuccessful as there was no needy left.
As the actions speak louder than words, it is realistic to explain Khilafah by the actions of the Caliphs of those times. Under the governance of Hazrat Umar RA, He (R.A) gave every single person a right to ask anything regarding him or his governance.
So one day when everyone was provided with one blanket and the Caliph had two blankets, one old lady bluntly asked the Caliph to provide the reason of this inequality and then Hazrat Umar RA answered that one blanket was not enough for him as his legs were exposed so He had taken his son Abdullah ibn Umar’s blanket who is sleeping without any. There are tens and thousands of things to explain out of which just few were provided which I guess is enough to think and to create the difference between what is good and what is bad.
