On the death anniversary of Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah the debate whether Quaid e Azam was secular or Islamist has reawakened once again. It is also due to the fact that Mr. Altaf Hussain and SAFMA representatives recently tried to pose him as a secular man. An insight of this analysis will clearly show that Secular groups in Pakistan try to pose Quaid e Azam as a secular person however the religious segments try to pose him as a religious man, saint and Islamist person.
A sincere analysis of the history will reveal that Quaid e Azam was preoccupied by different ideas at different times, for example he was called an ambassador of hindu muslim unity Then he shifted his stance and joined muslim league then after partition he criticized the leadership of muslim league saying them as a ‘khotta sikka’ and then in objective resolution he sat with all ulema who do not support Quaid e Azam before partition. In my view our source should be only Quran and Sunnah and nothing else!!!
