ISLAMABAD: The Minister for Defence Mr Khawaja Asif has said that the Pakistan military has incapacitated the terrorists’ command and control system and their network is being eliminated fast. In a statement issued by Mr Khawaja, he said that extremism in democratic country was unbearable, adding that the terrorists were fleeing from North Waziristan because of operation Zarb-i-Azb and the Pakistan forces were pursuing them.
The Defence Minister said that communication systems among security institutions were being coordinated and ensured in order to deal with terrorism.
On the other hand, the Sindh Rangers have prepared a plan to secure sensitive installations in Karachi in view of possible reaction of North Waziristan operation. The concerned institutions have been instructed to stay alert and share information in this regard.
A high level security meeting was held in the headquarter of Pakistan Rangers Sindh in which the affairs concerning to ensure security of sensitive installations were discussed and reviewed. The senior Rangers officers presented or proposed an overall plan to secure the sensitive installations in Karachi. According to sources, the plan was reviewed in detail and was finalised.
In the meeting, the representatives of the concerned institutions in Karachi were instructed to stay alert and share information among one another in order to secure sensitive installations. The meeting was attended by Additional IG Police, sector commanders, DIG traffic, Director Security MSA, Director Security KPT, CSO Oil Installation Area, representatives of Pakistan Navy and other high-ups.
It is pertinent to mention here that since the operation Zarb-i-Azb has started, sensitive installations can have possible reactions of the operation and today’s high level meeting was held in view of considering such threats and taking precautionary measures in this regard.
