Many people ask a question that whether we should call Muslims to practice Islam and take their religion seriously or we should do dawah with non-muslims and teach them about Islam?
Sheikh Saalih was also asked the same question who responded by saying that dawah is an obligation on the whole muslim ummah, it is a collective responsibility and it is also an obligation on individual level because Allah in the holy Quran asked us to convey the message.
On the priority of dawah he explained that whether we should do dawah & tableegh with muslims or non-muslims depend on the ability & circumstances of each individual.
There are people who have more interaction with non-muslims because he work amongst them, studies in a western university or he has the ability to preach them then his priority should be non-muslims.
On the contrary if the person is not among non-muslims, is more knowledgeable about fiqh or don’t have the ability to engage with non-muslims then his priority should be muslims.
But we should know that no matter where we live or what is our educational & professional background we are responsible for conveying the message of Islam.
