Karachi: Young Pakistan star batsman, Umar Akmal, has signed with Sydney Sixers for 2012 season of Australia’s flashy Twenty20 Big Bash Cricket League, local newspaper reported Thursday.
Earlier, Shahid Afridi has already signed with Sydney Thunders who played for Melbourne Renegades in the last season.
Umar Akmal, 22, has got the permission from Pakistan Cricket Board to feature in both Big Bash and Sri Lanka Premier League.
According to the PCB officials, the right handed prolific batsman has got the consent from the board because of the free schedule of National team when the Australian T20 league has been scheduled.
