KARACHI: A suicide bomber blast himself in Karachi today during the raids being carried out by security institutions. Resultantly, two police constables were injured. The injured police constables were rushed to a private hospital.
According to a local newspaper, intelligence institutions and police carried out search operation on a tip-off that there were some terrorists hiding in Rafah-e- Aam Society, Malir. The houses in the vicinity were being searched by blocking entrance and exits of the vicinity.
The suicide attacker when found being surrounded by the security institutions blast himself. SSP Rao Anwaar told media afterwards that the suicide attacker was named as Farhan Khan Alias Pehelwaan. He added that the terrorist had been living there for one year.
SSP Rao Anwaar further said that Farhan was a big terrorist and he was involved in many terror activities, adding that the details concerning him would later be released to media.
The police officer told that the terrorist fired at police and intelligence institution whereas he threw hand grenade as well due to which ex-SHO Sachal Shoaib Shaikh and constable Ashraf were injured.
On the question what organization the terrorist belonged to, Rao Anwaar told that all the terrorist organizations in Karachi have united. He added that Al-Qaeda, AQIS, Punjabi Taliban, TTP and TTS have become united.
