United States Secretary of Defence Leon Panetta admitted that without solving issues of Pakistan the problem of Afghanistan will not be solved.
He said that US want Pakistan to be a good ally; the relations with Pakistan are very complex while diplomatic efforts were continued for improvement in relations.
While addressing a think tank at Washington he said that South Asia is an important region, adding that US wants safe and stable Pakistan.
He said that the solution of all issues with Pakistan including the complete elimination of hideouts of militants the solution of Afghan problem is not possible.
He said that situation of Pakistan remains intense until the complete elimination of terrorism; meanwhile he alleged that Pakistan was increasing the number of the nuclear weapons in a very fast manner.
He said that Pakistan views India with great concern on first priority due to which Pakistan is facing problems to counter terrorism on its own soil, adding that Pakistan and India should try to solve their problems.
