Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik is one of the most popular cricketers in the past few years both on and off the field. Shoaib Malik was born on 1 February 1982 in Sialkot. He started playing cricket since childhood on the streets of Sialkot and started pursuing his passion after attending Imran Khan’s coaching clinics. He was a part of Pakistan’s under 15 World Cup Squad and from there he never looked back.
Shoaib Malik made his debut for Pakistan in ODIs against West Indies in 1999 and his test debut against Bangladesh in 2001. He was included in the squad mainly for his spin bowling with an action that closely resembled the legendary Saqlain Mushtaq.
Shoaib Malik has taken over 100 ODI wickets and has a batting average of more than 30 in both tests and ODIs making him a complete all-rounder. He has also captained Pakistan in ODIs and Tests for around two years following Inzamam ul Haq’s resignation.
