KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Chief Syed Munawar Hassan has expressed his profound grief and sorrow on the demise of senior journalist Shamim-ur-Rahman. He along with JI Karachi General Secretary Naseem Siddiqui, Secretary Information Zahid Askari and director public relations Sarfraz Ahmed participated in the funeral prayers of the late journalist and condoled with the grieved family. Speaking on the occasion, he hailed the services of Rahman for journalism and paid a rich tribute to the media person for his unbiased journalism.
Meanwhile in a joint statement on Wednesday, JI Karachi chief Muhammad Hussain Mehnati, and office bearers Dr. Wasey Shakir, Hafiz Naeem ur Rahman, Nasrullah Khan Shaji, Abdul Rasheed Baig, Muslim Pervez, and Ali Muhammad expressed their grief and termed the demise as irreparable loss for the journalism. They prayed Allah Almighty to rest the soul in the eternal peace and to bestow the grieved family with courage to bear the incident.
Meanwhile JI Chief Syed Munawar Hassanand and JI Karachi General Secretary Naseem Siddiqui called on JI central vice Amir Prof. Abdul Ghafoor Ahmed at his residence and inquire about his health. They prayed Allah Almighty for early recovery of Ahmed’s health.
