Karachi: Shahzeb murder case hearing session began today at the Supreme Court. The investigative officers and the high police officials were present at the Supreme Court. The hearing session started with the Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhary asking the police officers about their processions in the case.
IG Sindh Fayyaz Leghri was questioned about his performance. The officials said that they had raided various areas had out of the four culprits who are said to be involved in the murder. Three of them have been arrested while the primary suspect of the case, Shahrukh Jatoi remain uncaught. The investigative general presented the reason that since the murderer had fled to Dubai least year, therefore he could still not be caught. The Chief Justice expressed serious annoyance over the reply and said that had the police confiscated and interrogated the case well at the initiative stage, it had not led to such results. The Chief Justice demanded the arrest of Shahrukh in the upcoming 24 hours or said that the IG would be suspended, with new IG to take over his position and look for the culprit within a day.
The high judge also said that if this case is not taken to justice then many cases would happen frequently. He appreciated the media participation about the issue and said that they had been doing their job well but still police team does not look much concerned to do their job.
Moreover, Station House Officer Malik Salim, Duty Officer Mohammad Yasin, Investigation Officer Aslam Khakrani of the same police station had also been suspended as they failed to do their job properly.
Update: 11:45 The case hearing has been adjourned till 10 January.
