Shahid Afridi Criticizes Batsmen On The Defeat Against West Indies

Shahid AfridiKarachi: The national cricket team all-rounder Shahid Afridi said the way our team played against the West Indies is not meant to be played at International level and due to the negative thinking of batsmen; we lost the match against West Indies.

After attending the T20 World Cup Shahid Afridi, Moin Khan and Zaheer Abbas has returned home, talking to media at Karachi airport, Afridi said that we were afraid of that situation which was happened at the last match. Our batsmen’s batting should be like in the last match as they did against Australia, Afridi added.

The 34-years old player said that the team has showed good performance in the tournament, but the pressure in game shows how the players perform their game, the result is always like that if players do not play aggressively in good matches. He further added that the match became out of the way even in the first 6 overs of batting as the players were getting out one by one.

In response to a question Shahid Afridi said that “I am ready to accept any challenge for Pakistan including Pakistan’s team captaincy”. The all-rounder said he didn’t think captaincy was a major issue but changing the attitude of the players was a big one.

T-20 cricket team captain Mohammad Hafeez resigned from captaincy. Najam Sethi claimed while talking to the media that there were mistakes from selectors to captain. At Najam Sethi’s conversations formers cricketers said that chairman’s job is not to put debris on others but should also take responsibility for his part.
