Shaheen Sehbai is a senior Pakistani-American journalist who works for the well known Jang Group, one of the largest media groups in Pakistan. Shaheen Sehbai has been an independent journalist for the last 44 years and is one of the senior most journalists at Jang. Shaheen Sehbai is currently the group editor of The News International. Shaheen Sehbai completed his education from Edwardes College Peshawar. He has been an independent journalist for more than four decades, earning his name through frequent columns in newspaper. Shaheen Sehbai writes political comlumns, analyzing the situation of Pakistani politics and offering his views on the reasons behind them. He also provides predictions which have earned some criticism as they sometimes lead him to make contradictory statements.
Shaheen Sehbai has seen his share of controversy, when he resigned in 2002 from The News after receiving a memorandum from his boss in which he was warned against publishing derogatory articles, alienating advertisers and ignoring officials. Shaheen Sehbai defended himself by saying he was being harassed for not supporting Pervez Musharraf’s government. Shaheen Sehbai has also been accused of carrying out a defamation campaign against former president Zardari after being refused ambassadorship, a claim he denies profusely.
