Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif constituting an inquiry committee has assured complete cooperation to the grieved family of raped student. Talking to media at the victim’s house on Sunday, Shahbaz Sharif said that he would not sit until the culprits of the incident are not brought in the court of justice; adding that the main accused is on bail until 4th October. Alas! The court might have not granted bail to him, he added.
He said that police would try its best to arrest main accuse after ending his bail, adding that other accused has been arrested. He announced that the provincial government would bear the educational expenditures of victim girl and her sister. Shahbaz expressed his chagrin over the federal government’s refusal to provide him a helicopter to visit a girl raped in Shahkot.
Shahbaz said that he had made the long journey to rape victim’s house to sympathise with her regarding her tragedy despite a severe backache. He harangued President Zardari for being over-possessive about billions worth of helicopters meant for official use.
He said that he is not ready to accept Zardari as president, adding that Zardari has submitted national exchequer in Swiss banks after looting. Shahbaz said that the victim student Saba has scored the 952 marks out of 1050 in Matriculation exams, which is an excellent performance. Shahbaz said that the grieved family is very much worried but I assured family members that the culprits would be brought to justice at every cost.
Expressing his strong resolve to assure rule of law and the Constitution, he announced that a committee for transparent enquiry into the incident has already been constituted comprising of honest persons. The CM also said that he had urged the hapless victim not to be discouraged and continue her studies with vigour, and announced that the Punjab government would fund her future education.
