Karachi: Chairman Roet-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman has announced that Shab-e-Barat, a holy night for the Muslims, will be commemorated on July 5 as the new moon for the month of Shaban was not sighted anywhere in the country.
According to the announcement in a meeting held on Wednesday to see the appearance of Shaban moon, the month of Shaban will commence from tomorrow (Friday).
“As the moon of Shaban of 1433 Hijri was not sighted in the skies of Pakistan on Wednesday, the month of Rajab will end on Thursday on completion of 30 days and Holy Shaban month will begin on Friday,” announcement said.
The meeting assessed reports and messages received from across the country about non-appearance of the new moon in the skies of country.
It is to mention here that Shab-e-Barat in UK and USA will be observed on Friday 05 July, 2012, one day after the observance here in Pakistan.
