ISLAMABAD: The security forces of Pakistan have achieved great successes in the first six months of the operation Zarb-i-Azb. Thousand kilograms of explosive materials and weapons have so far been recovered from North Waziristan whereas arms manufacturer factories, underground tunnels and jails have also been found.
According to sources, the security forces, during various actions, have recovered 5 thousand, 8 hundred and 98 rifles and approximately 13 lakhs bullets during the first six months of the operation Zarb-i-Azb. Also, 2193 submachine guns, 274 machine guns whereas 104 other arms have been recovered.
According to sources, 314 rocket launchers, 4901 rockets and 4391 mortars have also been recovered from June to December. The security forces have also recovered 3321 hand grenades and 4808 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). 125000 kilograms of explosive materials have been recovered from North Waziristan yet.
According to sources, the security officials have destroyed 33 IED factories, 5 rocket manufacturer factories, and 7 arm and explosive manufacturer factories during the six months. The security forces have also destroyed 9 jails so far which the terrorists built whereas 186 underground tunnels being used by the terrorists have also been found.
