London: Scientists have claimed that they have created a formula for which a person can stay young forever. Investigators say after drinking this medicine, the age of the mammals can reduce. With the wide-ranging benefits of reducing disease and enabling a longer, healthier life, reversing the causes of aging is a major focus of much medical research.
Harvard University researchers have observed while making the changes in DNA, the two years old mice become quite young shortly like six month old mice. Professor David Sinclair, an expert in genetics at Harvard Medical School says this is the equivalent of making a 60-year-old person feel like a 20-year-old.
Some scientists say that DNA molecules interact with each other and with the passage of time, the communication between the DNA molecules is reduced and human tissues become weak. As a result, the man is started old. Responsible for this breakdown is a decline of the chemical NAD. By increasing amounts of a compound used by the cell to produce NAD, Professor Sinclair found that he could quickly repair mitochondrial function.
It is however a long and tough way to go from these nice mouse experiments to showing real anti-ageing effects in humans without side effects. Dr Nigel Turner, senior research fellow at UNSW and co-author of the study, told Guardian Australia the rate of age reversal in mice was “amazingly rapid”. Sinclair is optimistic that boosting its levels in people won’t have as many significant adverse effects as introducing an entirely new compound.
