Islamabad: SC has ordered the quick apprehension of the former Ogra Chairman Tauqeer Sadiq. The last day for his arrest given by the SC is 22 January. The Supreme Court has also received the report relating to the progress of the case. The court said that despite the presence of NAB and police teams in UAE, apprehension of the culprit has still not been made. Chief Justice has asked FIA to make the Sindh police team to bring back Shahrukh Jatoi to the country.
The Chief Justice questioned the police officials that why Sadiq Tauqeer could not be arrested? . He said that no reference has been filed against those who appointed the former NAB chairman while justice Jawwad said that no one including the NAB itself has shown interest in the case. They said that despite being named in ECL, Sadiq travelled to foreign country. Chief Justice said that Tauqeer Sadiq travelled abroad in the month of June and November last year, escaping in Senate car through the motorway. He questioned if still the vehicles and his possessions have been taken into custody yet?
The hearing session was headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Ahmed Chaudhary and Justice Jawwad Khwaja. Jawwad Khwaja in his remarks said that no apprehensions have been made yet of the culprits, neither any confiscation. No reference filed yet have left the culprits freely. The justice said that when the police forces can apprehend Shahrukh in UAE then why Sadiq is still not arrested? The judges also questioned the inefficiency of the policemen that led the Ogra Chairman to withdraw his amounts from his banks, as the accounts were not freezed.
