Sazgar Engineering Works Limited becomes the first Pakistani company to launch an Electric Vehicle after it unveiled their electric rickshaw in a ceremony which was attended by business community and government officials.
The unveiling of Sazgar Electric Rickshaw comes after government implemented its National Electric Vehicle Policy. The company aims to make the vehicle commercially available which will create new employment opportunities in auto sector of Pakistan.
The most interesting thing about this electric three-wheeler is that it’s the first locally manufactured vehicle. It will not only create new job opportunities but will also become a source of foreign revenue for the country, helping the economy to grow.
The electric rickshaw will be powered by a 7.7 kwh battery and comes with a 3kw motor which gives it a range of 170KM. This battery will take 5 hours to charge and will save fuel cost of Rs. 250,000 each year.
The price of the electric rickshaw is not revealed yet but it is expected that the rates will be announced soon. Other details of the electric rickshaw are as follows:

Range: 170 Kilometers
