Karachi: In comparison to the previous year Ramazan Kareem, the prices of the daily usage items has been maintained better in this month of Ramazan, all thanks to the efforts invested by the various welfare organizations. Saylani is also top of the list in providing subsidized daily usage items for the people. Various traders have also gone a step ahead by disregarding profits and providing daily usage food items on subsidized rates.
Saylani has established a Bachat store at Numaish Chowrangi which is providing more than a 40% discount on food items. The management of Saylani has ensured that the quality of the food items is not compromised. Amir Madni of Saylani store has stated that people from all income groups can buy from these stores as this facility has not been restricted to a particular income group. This store has no connection to the Zakat.
In the Saylani store, Gram Lentils is available at Rs 50 per kg as compared to Rs 85 in the open market. Yellow green gram is available at Rs 147 per kg, as compared to Rs 156 in the open market. Chickpeas are available at Rs 92 per kg as compared to Rs 156 in the open market. Yellow lentils are available at Rs 108 per kg as compared to Rs 120 in the open market. Black chickpeas is available at Rs 61 as compared to Rs 82 in the open market. White lentils is available at Rs 119 as compared to Rs 140 in the open market.
A 10kg sack of flour is available at Rs 385 as compared to Rs 460 in the open market. A 5kg sack of rice is available at Rs 400 as compared to Rs 400 in the open market. A 2kg pack of sugar is available at Rs 102 as compared to Rs 120 in the open market. A 400g pack of dates is available at Rs 65 as compared to Rs 85 in the open market. A 150g of vermicelli is available at Rs 16 as compared to Rs 20 in the open market. Other items are also available at factory prices for the consumers.
