Karachi: The Assistant Professor of Mass Communication Department, Karachi University Ms Samina Qureshi has been alleged of failing to submit the degree of her foreign training after she was proceeded on degree course and an amount of Rs1,980,354 ($33,154) was spent on the degree programme, local newspaper reported Tuesday.
It has been said that Ms Samina, an ex-cadre officer, is on two years leave from KU and heading the Institute of Communication and Media Studies at Ziauddin University despite her undertaking that she would submit the degree on her return and serve Pakistan government for five years after the completion of the courses.
Earlier, she along with a number of other government employees was deputed for long-term training/foreign studies under the ‘Public Sector Capacity Building Project’ during the period of 2007-08 who also failed to submit their degrees, and in few cases gave their resignations.
This issue came up during the PAC meeting led by Nadeem Afzal Chan held on Monday at the Parliament House.
