Karachi: One of the popular stage actors, Saleem Afridi hs said that quality work is currently being done for theatre and that the competition is extreme. He said that earlier, theatre was in its stage of dormancy, but it has emerged from its slumber and now more work is being produced. He said that it is wrong to presume that only the burger class is dominating on the theatre of Karachi. in fact, there are different categories of theatre audiences.
Afridi has a unique style of comedy and has been popular in stage dramas. Afridi stated that Karachi theatre has only presented dramas on the current problems of the society and the dramas are clean and simple. These dramas have been appreciated. Famous actors such as, Moin Akhtar, Umar Sharif, Jamshed Ansri and Usman Memon have contributed to the development of theatre.

Afridi was energetic about the future of theatre and will soon launch a movement to promote theatre in the remote areas of the country. he said that areas such as Landhi, Korangi, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, North Karachi will also be introduced to theatre. Audiences belong to middle income group and the ticket should be at affordable prices for these people.
